Recall:

\text {area } = \text {length } \times \text {breadth }

\text {area of the border } = \text {external area } \times \text {inner area }

Find the area of the park:

\text {area } = \text {length } \times \text {breadth }

\text {area } = 13 \times 12

\text {area } = 156 \text { m}^2

Find the area of the park without the path:

\text {Length } = 13 - 3 - 3

\text {Length } = 7 \text { m}

\text {Bradth } = 12 - 3 - 3

\text {Length } = 6 \text { m}

\text {area } = 7 \times 6

\text {area } = 42 \text { m}^2

Find the area of the path:

\text {area } =  156 - 42

\text {area } = 114 \text { m}^2

Find the cost of painting:

1 \text{ m}^2 = 50

114 \text{ m}^2 = 50 \times 114

114 \text{ m}^2 =\text{Rs } 5700

Answer: The cost is Rs 5700.
