Let the original length of the rectangle be l units
Let the original breadth of the rectangle be b units
Area of the original rectangle = Length * Breadth
= lb units²
Length is doubled = 2l units
Breadth is half = b/2 units
Area of modified rectangle = Length * Breadth
= 2l * b/2
= lb units²
= Area of original rectangle
So, Area of modified rectangle = Area of original rectangle
Hence the areas will be same...
