Step-by-step explanation:

Let breadth of a rectangle = x

Then length = 2x

Perimeter = 2(x+2x)=2×3x=6x

6x=120

⟹x=20

Length =2x=20×2=40m

Given:

  • The perimeter of the rectangle 120 m.
  • The length of the rectangle is twice it's breadth.

Need to find:

  • The length of the rectangle ?

Solution:

Let the breadth of the rectangle be "x".

And, it's length be "2x".

As we know that,

Perimeter = 2 × (length + breadth)

Putting the values:

➜ 2 × (x + 2x) = 120

➜ (x + 2x) = 120/2

➜ (x + 2x) = 60

➜ 3x = 60

➜ x = 60/3

x = 20

Hence,

  • The breadth of the rectangle is 20 m.
  • The length of the rectangle is (20 × 2) 40m.
