Given -

  • length of a rectangular field is is double of its breadth.

  • perimeter is 66 cm.

To find -

  • Area of field.

Formula used -

  • Perimeter of rectangle

  • Area of rectangle.

Solution -

In the Question, we are provided with the perimeter of rectangular field, and we need to find it's area, for that, for that, first we will find out the dimensions, with the help of perimeter, and the when we will obtain the, dimensions, we will, find the area. Let's do it!

So -

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(L + B)

Where,

P = Perimeter

L = Length

B = Breadth

On substituting the values -

66cm = 2(2B + B)

66cm = 2(3B)

66cm = 6B

B = \sf\cancel\dfrac{66}{6}

B = 11 cm

Finding the dimensions -

Breadth = 11 cm

Length = 2B = 2 × 11 = 22cm

Now -

Area of rectangle = L × B

On Substituting the values -

Area = 22cm × 11cm

Area = 242 cm²

\therefore The area of the rectangular field is 242cm².
