Answer:   4 times

R=ρL/A

now length=2L

A=A/2

SO new reistance R1=ρ2L/A/2

R1=4ρL/A

R1=4(ρL/A)

SO new reistances almost increase by 4 times

Hope it helps u !!

If the length of the conductor is doubled then the resistance would increase by 8 times. Since length becomes 2l and the cross-sectional area becomes 14th.

Hence, Almost the new resistance of the conductor increases by 4 times.
