Point of origin is where the x-axis meets the y-axis. The coordinate of that point is (0,0).

Given:

The equation is 2x + 3y = l

Find the value of k if the line passed through the point of origin:

Equation : 2x + 3y = k

Substitute the point of origin into the equation

⇒ So we substitute x = 0 and y = 0 into it

⇒ 2(0) + 3(0) = k

⇒ k = 0

Answer: k = 0
