Let the 16 observations are x1,x2,x3,...,x16.
Their mean =8
(x1+x2+...+x16)/16=8----(1)
If 2 is added to each observation
The. New mean
=[(x1+2)+(x2+2)+...+(x16+2)]/16

=(x1+x2+....,+x16)+(2+2+..+ 16 times)]/16
=(x1+x2+..+x16)/16+32/16
=8+2 from (1)
=10
New mean =10

consider A/16=8
THERE A=a+b+c+....+k (16 observation)
then A=16*8=128
add of 2 to each observation
then
MEAN=A+2(16)/16
=128+32/16
=160/16
MEAN =10 - THIS WILL BE THE NEW MEAN
