Their mean =8
(x1+x2+...+x16)/16=8----(1)
If 2 is added to each observation
The. New mean
=[(x1+2)+(x2+2)+...+(x16+2)]/16

=(x1+x2+....,+x16)+(2+2+..+ 16 times)]/16
=(x1+x2+..+x16)/16+32/16
=8+2 from (1)
=10
New mean =10
