If the mean of a set of observations×1, ×2,...,....,×10 is 20. find the mean of ×1+4,×2+8,×3+12,.... ....×10+40.

4+8+12+...+40 = 4(1+2+3+..+10) = 4× 10×11/2 = 220

220/10 =22

new mean = 20+22 = 42
