Terms are =

x , ( x + 2 ) , ( x + 4 ) , ( x + 6 ) , ( x + 8 )

Mean = 3 ( given )

Sum of all terms / number of terms = mean

=> x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8 / 5 = 3

=> 5x + 20 = 15

=> 5x = -5

=> x = -1
