Hi..

mean = total sum of observations/ total no. of observations

13 = \frac{ x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8}{5}

65 = 5x + 20
65 - 20 = 5x
45 = 5x
x = \frac{45}{5}

 \bold{ \boxed{x = 9}}

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Mean = 13

No of observations / Total no. of observations = 13

(x+x+2+x+4+x+6+x+8)/5 = 13

5x + 20 = 13 × 5

5x + 20 = 65

5x = 65 - 20 = 45

x = 45/5

x = 9
