AnsWer :

x = 20.

GiveN :

  • Mean = 24.
  • Observation x , x + 2 , x + 4 , x + 6 , x+ 8.

To FinD :

The value of x.

SolutioN :

We have, Formula.

 \tt Mean =  \dfrac{Sum  \: of \:  Observation}{ No.  \: of \:  Observation}

Here,

  • Number of Observation is 5.

 \tt :  \implies Mean =  \dfrac{x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8}{5}

 \tt :  \implies 24 =  \dfrac{x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8}{5}

 \tt :  \implies 24 =  \dfrac{5x +20}{5}

 \tt :  \implies 24 =  \dfrac{5(x +4)}{5}

 \tt :  \implies 24 =  x + 4

 \tt :  \implies x = 20.

Therefore,the value of x is 20.

✯✯ QUESTION ✯✯

If the mean of x, x+2,x+4,x+6,x+8\:is\:24 , Find x.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰

\longrightarrow{Given\:Observations=x,x+2,x+4,x+6,x+8}

\longrightarrow{Mean\:of\:Obseravtion=24}

As we know that : -

\longrightarrow{Mean=\dfrac{Sum\:of\:all\:Observations}{Total\:No.\:of\:Observations}}

Now : -

\longrightarrow{Mean=\dfrac{x+x+2+x+4+x+6+x+8}{5}}

\longrightarrow{24=\dfrac{5x+20}{5}}

\longrightarrow{24=\dfrac{5(x+4)}{5}}

\longrightarrow{24=x+4}

\longrightarrow{24-4=x}

\longrightarrow{20=x}

So, Value of x is 20....
