Then the other side containing the right angle is also​ x because it is an isosceles triangle ( two angles are 45 and 45)

Then hypotenuse =

\sqrt{x^{2}+ x^{2} } \\\\= \sqrt{2x^{2} } \\\\= \sqrt{2}x

since hypotenuse = \sqrt{2} x

\frac{1}{\sqrt{2} } * \sqrt{2} x = x

i.e  \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} } x hypotenuse = length of each side containing the right angle
