OBSERVATION :-

 x\: , 2x\: , 3x

Median of the data is 12

Median is the middle most term of the observation.

No of observations = 03 (odd)

Median =

 \frac{3 + 1}{2}  =  \frac{4}{2} \\  \\  = 2

So,

Second term is 12

So,

2x = 12

Or,

x = 12/2 = 6

So,

The observation will be as follows :-

6,12 and 24

Mean will be :-

 \frac{6 + 12 + 24}{3} \\  \\  \\  =  \frac{42}{3} = 14

So,

Mean of the data is 14

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

median of x, 2x and 4x is 12 , then

2x = 12 , then x = 6.

mean(x, 2x, 4x) = mean(6, 12, 24) =

= (6 + 12 + 24)/3 = 42/3 = 14.
