if the molecule move so fast,why does it take as long as a minute or so before you can smell perfume when someone opens bottle across room??

In a perfume bottle the gas is being compressed to liquid but as soon as we open the cap of the bottle and spray it ,it again comes back to its gaseous state and begins the process of diffusion to flow from high concentration to that of the lower concentration i.e. from where the gas is sprayed to the entire room where it's concentration is relatively less.
