We see the Moon shining at night from the Earth because it reflects the light coming from the Sun. We see this reflected light. The moon reflects only about 12% of sunlight striking on its surface. The brightness of the moon depends on where it is in it's orbit around the Planet Earth. On a full moon night the moon shines so bright that it conceals other celestial objects in the night sky. During quarters, the Moon shines only 8% of what it shines on a full moon day

Answer:

It emits the sun's light.

Explanation:

The sun's light falls on the moon and that is how we see the moon illuminated in different shapes.
