QUESTION :-

If the number is added to the ratio 7:15, the ratio becomes 7:11. Then find the number.

SOLUTION:-

\rightarrow let, the number be r,

\rightarrow .°. the number is added to the ratio 7:15 ( given)

\rightarrow .°. add r in this ratio, so

\rightarrow r + 7 / r + 15 = 7 /11

HERE APPLY CROSS MULTIPLICATION.

\rightarrow 7(r +7) = 11(r +15)

\rightarrow 7r +49 = 11r + 165

\rightarrow .°. 7r - 11r = 49 - 165

\rightarrow .°. - 4r = - 116

\rightarrow .°. r = 29

SO, THE NUMBER IS 29.

let,

the number be r,

= .°. the number is added to the ratio 7:15 ( given)

= .°. add r in this ratio, so

= r + 7 / r + 15 = 7 /11

HERE APPLY CROSS MULTIPLICATION.

= 7(r +7) = 11(r +15)

= 7r +49 = 11r + 165

=.°. 7r - 11r = 49 - 165

=.°. - 4r = - 116

= .°. r = 29

SO,

THE NUMBER IS 29.
