let the fraction be x/y

now according to question,  x+1/y = 3/4  

                                      and     x/y-2 = 1\2  

now by solving both the equations we get

4x+4=3y

 => 4x-3y= (-4)________ eq(1)

and,

2x=y-2

=> 2x-y=-2_____________eq(2)

on sloving them by substution method

x=(y+2)/2 ----------{from eq 2}

putting value of x in equation 1

4(y+2)/2 + 4 = 3y

2y + 4 + 4 = 3y

y = 8

putting value of y in equation 1

4x+4=3y

4x + 4 = 3 * 8

4x + 4 = 24

4x = 20

x = 5

so the fraction is 5/8
