(i) The atomic number is equal to the number of protons. Therefore, the atomic number of the atom is 8.

(ii) Since the number of both electrons and protons is equal, therefore, the charge on the atom is 0.

hope u get it.......

Answer:

ATOMIC NO. OF ATOM IS THE NO. OF ELECTRONS/PROTONS..IT HAVE...

SO THE ATOMIC NO. OF ATOM IS 8

AND...

It's electronic configuration is (2, 6) (OXYGEN)

..

Sice it has 6 electrons in its outermost shell(i.e.L shell) ... so it will accept 2 electrons from any other atom electrons... and hence it's charge will be...

if a atom gain electrons then the charge would.. be NEGATIVE..

If a atom donate electrons then the charge would be

POSITIVE. .

SO THE.. CHARGE WOULD BE... O²-

OR 2-

hope this helps you.... plzz Mark as Brainliest answer
