◆Answer:We can calculate it's valency by observing that how many electron does atom
gain or lose from its valence electron.

If it gain the valency is positive.
If is lose the valency is negative.

The valency of an atom is equal to thenumber of electrons in the outer shell ifthat number is four or less. Otherwise, thevalency is equal to eight minus the numberof electrons in the outer shell. Once you know the number of electrons, you caneasily calculate the valency.
