Answer:

4/9

Step-by-step explanation:

If the numerator of a fraction is increased by 150% and the denominator of the fraction is increase by 300%, the resultant fraction is [5/18]. What is original fraction?

Let the numerator and denominator of the original fraction be x and y respectively.

=> original fraction = x/y.

now the numerator of the fraction is increased by 150%

=> new numerator = x + 150% of x = x + 1.5x = 2.5x

and the denominator of the fraction is increased by 300%

=> new denominator = y + 300% of y = y + 3y = 4y

Now, the resultant fraction i.e. 5/18 is 2.5x/4y

=> 2.5x/4y = 5/18

=> x/y = 5*4/2.5*18 = 20/45 = 4/9

Therefore, the original fraction is 4/9.
