Answer:

Correct Answer :- 10 CM

Step-by-step explanation:

Let length = let length = 2x

and breadth = x

perimeter of rectangle = 2(1+b)

60 = 2(2x+x)

60/2 = 3x

30/3 = x

10 = x

1 = 2 x 10=20 cm

b = 10cm

Thank you

If the perimeter of a rectangle is 60 cm and the width is half the length of the rectangle,what is the length of the rectangle?*

a) 30 cm

b) 20 cm

c) 10 cm

d) 60 cm

\mathfrak{ \large{ \blue{ \underline{ \pink{ To\:Find : }}}}}

  • Length of rectangle

\mathfrak{ \large{ \blue{ \underline{ \pink{ Solution: }}}}}

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 60 cm
  • Let the length of rectangle = x
  • Let the breadth (width) of rectangle = x/2

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \mathfrak{ \underline{ \green{ Formula\: to\: calculate\: perimeter\: of\: rectangle}}}

 \boxed{ \boxed{ \mathfrak{ \red{perimeter = 2(length + breadth)}}}}

According to question,

 \large{ \sf \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 2(x +  \frac{x}{2} ) = 60} \\

 \large{ \sf \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \frac{2x + x}{2}  =  \frac{60}{2} } \\

 \large{ \sf \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \frac{3x}{2}  =  \frac{60}{2} } \\

 \large{ \sf \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: x =  \frac{60 \times  \cancel2}{ \cancel2 \times 3} } \\

 \large{ \sf \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \boxed  { \tt{ \purple{ \underline{ x = 20 \: cm}}}}}

\mathfrak{ \large{ \blue{ \underline{ \pink{  Hence: }}}}}

  • The length of rectangle is 20 cm

 \therefore \:  \:  \rm { \underline{The\: correct\: option\: is\: (b)}}
