if the perimeter of a rectangle with dimension (2 X + 10) and (X + 20) is 240 cm, find its dimensions.

these are length and breadth 

we know that rectangle has 4 side ,

perimeter =2 *(length +breadth)=240

        

    2(2x+10+x+20)

   =2*(3x+30)

   =6x+60 =240

6x=240-60 

6x=180

x = 30

there fore the dimensions are 2x+10   and x+20 

= 60+10 aned 50

so,

2*{(2x + 10)+(x + 20)} = 240

or, 2*(3x+30) = 240

or, 3x+30 = 120

or, 3x= 90

or, x= 30

and so, one of dimension is (2x+10)= 70cm

another dimension is (x+20)= 50cm
