Given:

The perimeter of a triangle is 14 cm

The sides of the triangle are (x+4), (3x+1), (4x+1)

To find:

The value of x

Now,

To find the perimeter of a triangle

= Sum of all three sides of the triangle

⇒ (x+4) + (3x+1) + (4x+2) = 14

⇒ 8x + 7 = 14

⇒ 8x = 14 - 7

[ By transporting 7 to RHS]

⇒ 8x = 7

⇒ x = 7/8

[By transporting 8 to RHS]

Therefore,

  • The value of x = 7/8

Now,

Sides of the triangle are

(x+4) = 7/8 + 4 = (7+32)/8 = 39/8

(3x+1) = 3 * (7/8) + 1 = 21/8 + 1 = (21+8)/8 = 29/8

(4x+2) = 4 * (7/8) + 2 = 28/8 + 2 = 7/2 + 2 = (7+14)/2 = 21/2

Answer:

7/8=x

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter of triangle = sum of all sides

14cm = x+4+3x+1 + 4x+2

14=8x+7

14-7=8x

7/8=x

hence, the value of x=7/8
