If the permeter of is triangle 14cm and the sides are x+4, 3x+1 and 4x+1, find x

Answer 1

1st side = x+4

2nd side = 3x+1

3rd side = 4x+1

perimeter = 14 cm

formula to find perimeter of triangle = sum of the 3 sides of the triangle

hence,

x+4+3x+1+4x+1=14

8x+6=14

8x=14-6

8x=8

x=8/8

x=1

VERIFICATION :

1st side = x+4 = 1+4 = 5

2nd side = 3x+1 = (3×1)+1 = 4

3rd side = 4x+1 = (4×1)+1 = 5

perimeter = sum of all sides

4+5+5=14
