We know that these three points (1,2) (-1,x) & (2,3) are Collinear .

So , | 1 2 1 |

| -1 x 1 | = 0

| 2 3 1 |

=> 1(x-3) - 2(-1-2) + 1(-3-2x) = 0

=> x - 3 -2(-3) - 3 - 2x = 0

x - 3 + 6 - 3 - 2x = 0

-x = 0

x = 0
