as we know , ( 3 , - 1 ) = ( x , y )

so we can put values of x and y in given equation ,

mx + 5y = 4 [ x = 3 and y = - 1 ]

m ( 3 ) + 5 ( - 1 ) = 4

3m - 5 = 4

3m = 4 + 5

3m = 9

m = 9 / 3

m = 3

I hope this will be help you
