"The value of K is 5.

Given:

P is midpoint of the A and B

P is (K-1, 2)

Solution:

We can write

x = K-1; y = 2

{ x }_{ 1 } = 3; { y }_{ 1 } = K

{ x }_{ 2 } = K; { y }_{ 2 } = 5

Mid point formula is\left( \frac { { x }_{ 1 }+{ x }_{ 2 } }{ 2 } ,\quad \frac { { y }_{ 1 }+{ y }_{ 2 } }{ 2 } \right)

Substituting values in the formula

K-1=\frac{3+K}{2}

2K - 2 = 3 + K

2K - K = 3 + 2

K = 5"
