y=0 by equating slopes of lines formed by any two ppinyd

Hy there,
If the 3 points are collinear, then, slopes will also be equal.
Implies that (f - d) /(e-c) = (d-b)/(c-a)
Let's assume the three points be (a,b), (c,d) and (e,f).
Implies (3-y)/(2-(-1)=(y-2)/(-1-1)
Implies (3-y)/3=-(y-2)/2
Implies 2(3-y)=-3(y-2)
Implies 6-2y=-3y+2
Implies 6-2=2y-3y
Implies 4=-y
Implies y=-4
So, y= - 4
Hope it helps.
Thanks.
