and B in the ratio 3:1, find the

let the cordinates of point be (x,y)

p(-1)= mx2+nx1/m+n

= -1= 3x+2/4

= -4=3x+2

= -6= 3x

= x = -2

now,

p(2)=my2+ny1/m+n

=2 =3y+5/ 3+1

=2= 3y+5/4

=8=3y+5

=8-5 =3y

3=3y

y=1

hence the coordinates of point B =(-2,1)
