This is the answer.

Hope it helps all.

x = -2

P(x) =kx^3 + 3x^2 - 8

P(-2) =k(-2) ^3 + 3(-2) ^2 - 8

= -8k + 12 - 8

= -8k + 4 ____ 1

P(x) = 3x^3 - 5x + k

P(-2) = 3(-2) - 5(-2) + k

= (-24) + 10 + k

= -14 + k_____2

From _1 and _2, we get

-8k + 4 = -14 + k

-8k - k = -14 - 4

-9k = -18

( - and - gets cancel)

9k = 18

Therefore, k= 18/ 9

Hence, k= 2
