If a polynomial  f(x) is divided by  x-a then the remainder is  f(a) . Here,  f(x)=x^3-ax^2+2x-a .

The remainder when divided by  x-a is

 f(a)=a^3-a.a^2+2a-a\\<br />f(a)=a
