So, Total cost = xy

We are given that the total cost is 300

So, $xy=300$

So, Total Cost = $(x+5)(y-5)$

So, $(x+5)(y-5) =300$

$xy-5x+5y-25=300$

$300-5x+5y-25=300$

$-5x+5y=25$
