The price of sugar is Rs.30.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : If the price of sugar decreased by rupees 5 per kg one can buy 1 kg more sugar in Rupees 150.

To find : What is the price of the sugar ?

Solution :

Let the price of sugar be 'x'.

Let the amount of sugar one can buy be 'y'.

According to question,

xy=150 ....(1)

(x-5)(y+1)=150 ....(2)

Solving (1) and (2),

Substitute y from (1) in (2),

(x-5)(\frac{150}{x}+1)=150

(x-5)(\frac{150+x}{x})=150

(x-5)(150+x)=150x

150x+x^2-750-5x=150x

x^2-5x-750=0

x^2-30x+25x-750=0

x(x-30)+25(x-30)=0

(x-30)(x+25)=0

x=30,-25

Reject x=-25.

So, the price of sugar is Rs.30.
