Given:

quadratic polynomial = 3x²+7x-2

product of zeros = 10

To find:

value of m

Solution:

Let assume m and n are two zeros.

Product of zeros is 10. So, equation formed is-

               m × n = 10

 by solving given quadratic equation we will find zeros.

The given quadratic equation is, p(x) = 3x² + 7x -2

for calculating roots, we use

     x = \frac{(-b)^2 \pm \sqrt{b^2 -4ac} }{2a}

here a, b and c are coefficients.

so for given equation,

roots = \frac{(-7)^2 \pm \sqrt{7^2 - 4 \times 3 \times (-2)} }{2 \times 3}

roots = \frac{49 \pm 9.64}{6}

therefore,

m = \frac{49 + 9.64}{6 } and n = \frac{49 - 9.64}{6}

m = 9.77  and n = 6.56

So, value of m = 9.77.
