For repeated roots Descrimnant (D) must be = 0

D = ( -4b )² - 4 ( b ) ( 2b + 1 )

D = 0


16b² -8b² - 4b = 0

8b² - 4b = 0

b ( 8b - 4 ) = 0

b = 0 or b = 1/2
