Answer:

let the length and breadth if the rectangle are

6x cm and 5x cm

so, perimeter=2(length+breadth)=88

=> 2(6x+5x)=88

=> 2.11x=88

=> 22x=88

=> x=88/22=4

so, length=6.4cm=24cm and breadth is 5.4 cm=20 cm

Given - Length and breadth of rectangle in ratio - 6:5

Perimeter of rectangle - 88 cm

Find - Length and breadth of rectangle.

Solution - Let the length and breadth of rectangle be 6x and 5x respectively.

Formula for perimeter of rectangle is 2(l+b), where l is length and b is breadth of rectangle. Relating the given information and keeping the values in formula -

88 = 2(6x + 5x)

88 = 2*11x

88 = 22x

X = 88/22

X = 4.

As the length of rectangle is 6x - 6*4 - 24.

As the breadth of rectangle is 5x - 5*4 - 20.

Thus, length and breadth of rectangle is 24 cm and 20 cm respectively.
