If the ratio of the area of two
Squares is 9:25 and the sum
of their area is 306 Sq, metres
then find the difference between
their sides.

let areas be 9x and 25x

sum of area = 34x

34x = 306

x = 9

so areas of squares = 25 x 9 = 225m²

and 9 x 9 = 81m²

difference of areas = 225 - 81 = 144 m²
