Answer:

The ratio of length to breadth of the rectangle= 5:3

Let length of the rectangle=5x

so, breadth of the rectangle=3x

so, perimeter of the rectangle= 2(5x+3x)=16x.....(i)

According to the question, the perimeter of the rectangle=144m.......(ii)

so, from equations (i) & (ii),

16x=144

x=9

so the length of the rectangle= 5x= 5×9= 45m

Step-by-step explanation:

let 5:3 be 5x and 3x

perimeter of rectangel=2(l+b)

" " 144 =2(5x+3x)

" " 144 =2(8x)

" " 144/2 =8x

" " 72/8 = x

" " 9 = x

5x= 9×5

=45

3x= 9x3

=27
