if the reading of ammeterconnected in series with a resistor and a cell be I,what change will occur to the readingof ammeter,when one more cell is connected in parallel to the first cell?

Both voltmeter and ammeter are manufactured from galvanometer. If we add high resistance in series with gal, meter will be voltmeter and if a low resistance is connected in parallel with gal, it will become ammeter. As you are asked that voltmeter, Ammeter and cell are connected in series, since voltmeter has possessed high resistance, it will oppose more current and hence low voltage drop occurs across ammeter due to low resistance, is such a way low current passes through ammeter and hence it will give no deflection .....
