If the reading on the odometer of a vehicle in the beginning of a trip and after 40 minutes were 1048km and 1096km respectively,calculate its average speed.Will the reading on the speedometer show this speed when the vehicle is moving?Support your answer with reason

Final distance= 1096km
Initial distance= 1048km
Time taken= 40min = 40/60 h

Average speed
= Total Distance covered/ Total time taken
= Final distance - initial distance/ total time taken
= 1096-1048/(40/60)
= 48/(40/60)
= 48*60/40
= 72km/h

No the speedometer may or may not show this reading, because the vehicle can move at different speeds while transition and doesn't have a constant speed. But this is the average speed.
