Hey there,

1,500% Suppose the original circle had area A. That's equal to πr² exactly, but all that's important in this problem is that the area is proportional to r². The circle of radius 4 then has are 4²A = 16A. Here's where the first two answers went off-track. The *increase* in area is (16A - A) = 15A. As a percent of the original area, that's: (15A / A) * 100% = 15 * 100% = 1,500%

So  16 = 4^2 Because A = pi r^2
