f(x) = (x)^2 + 2(x)^2 + kx + 3
g(x) = x-3
zero of x-3 is
x-3 = 0
x= 3
subsitute x=3 in f(x)
(x)^2 + 2(x)^2 + kx + 3
(3)^2 + 2(3)^2 + k(3) + 3 = 21
9 + 18 + 3k + 3 = 21
30 + 3k = 21
3k = 21-30
3k = -9
k = -9/3
k = -3
The value of k is -3
