cp of 17 watch be x=sp of 16 watch

cp of 1 watch is x/17

cp of 16 watch is 16x/17

gain=sp-cp

gain=x-16×/17

gain=x/17

gain%=x×100/(17×x)

gain%=5.8%

Let the selling price of each watch be 'x'.

Then, the selling price of 17 water bottles = 17x.

Cost price of 17 watches = Selling price of 16 watches = 16x

Thus, SP = 17x and CP = 16x.

Since, (SP) > (CP)

Gain = (17x - 16x)

        = x

Gain% = (Gain/CP) * 100

          = (x/16x) * 100

          = 6.25%  (or)  6 (1/4)%

Hope this help!
