let SP of 1 Bottle be x

SP of 16 bottles = ₹16x
CP of 17 bottles = ₹16x
CP of 1 bottle =16x/17

as
SP is greater than CP=Profit
PROFIT= x-16x/17=x/17
P%=x/17÷16x/17×100
P%=6.25%

Answer: The gained percentage of dealer is 6 \frac{1}{4} \%, i.e., 6.25 %

Given:

The price of selling 16 bottles = Cost Price of 17 bottles

Solution:

Let the price of selling 16 bottles be 16 SP.

Let the cost price of 17 bottles be 17 CP.

16 SP = 17 CP ........ (1)

The profit is obtained when selling price is greater than cost price.

Therefore, Gain = 1

Gain in \%=\frac{1}{16} \times 100=\frac{25}{4}=6 \frac{1}{4} \%

The gain % earned by dealer in selling bottles is 6 \frac{1}{4} \%  = 6.25%
