If the side is tripled, how many times its perimeter will be that of the original square.

Hey


Let the side of square be x .

So ,

It's perimeter = 4* each side

= ( 4 x ) cm .

Now ,

If side is tripled then ,

side of square = 3x .

So perimeter :-

= 4 * 3x

= 12x cm .

Now , Let the new perimeter be a times more than that of perimeter of original square .

So ,

4x * a = 12x

=> a = 12 x / 4x

=> a = 3 .

So the perimeter will increase by 3 times .
