If the sliding friction between two surfaces is found to be 8 N. Will the magnitude of static friction between the two surfaces be more than 8 N or less than 8N? Explain why?

Answer:

We know that it is difficult to make a body move on a rough surface rather to keep the body moving on that particular surface..all because of the irregularities of the surface...in case of static friction we have to break the irregularities....the max. Value of static friction in limiting friction and kinetic or rolling friction is always less than that.
