HI ,
We can find the distance traveled in two methods :
1 ) speed of the motor cycle = s = 40km/ hr
time taken traveled = 1 hour and quarter = ( 1 + 1/4 ) hr
= (4+1 ) /4 hr
= 5/4 hr
we know the relation ,
distance = speed x time
= 40 km /hr x 5/4 hr
= 10 x 5 km
= 50 km
distance traveled in 1 hour and a quarter with a speed of 40 km/hr = 50km
Or
Second method :
In 1 hr motor cycle travels = 40 km-----( 1)
In 1/2 hr motor cycle travels = 40 / 2 km = 20 km
in a quarter hour motor cycle travels = 40 /4 km= 10 km-----( 2)
In 1 hour and a quarter hour motor cycle travels the distance
= ( 1) + (2 )
= 40km + 10km
= 50km
I hope this helps you.

Answer:
Step-by-step explanation:
60 mins= 40 km
1 hour and a quarter
Quarter = 1/4 × 60 (1 hour= 60mins)
Here,
Speed= distance/ time
Let the speed travelled in 15 mins be 'x'
x= 40 × 15/ 60
x= 10
So, in 15 minutes distance travelled= 10 km
Total distance travelled in 1 hour= 40 + 10 = 50 km
