if the speed of sound is 336m/s in air,then the shortest length of the one end closed tube that will resonate with a fork of frequency 210 Hz.

8473027846: Natural frequencies of a pipe of length l, closed at one end are given by,

ν = nv4l  , where v=336 m/s, the speed of sound and n is an odd integer
The shortest length of the pipe that can resonate with a tuning fork of frequency ν = 210 Hz is

l1 = v4ν , as n=1

substituting the values we get,
 l1 = 3364×210

i.e., l1 = .4m = 40 cm

Hope I have solved your problem.

Hello dear,

● Answer -
L = 40 cm

● Explaination -
# Given -
v = 336 m/s
f = 210 Hz

# Solution -
Shortest wavelength of closed organ pipe is given by -
L = v / 4f
L = 336 / (4×210)
L = 336 / 840
L = 0.4 m
L = 40 cm

Therefore, shortest length of one end closed tube that can resonate with 210 Hz frequency is 40 cm.
