if the standardization ensure the quality of a commodity, why are many goods available in the market without ISI or Agmark certification?

Answer: Although standardisation ensures the quality of a product, many commodities in the country are available without Ag mark or ISI mark as it is not mandatory to get the standards certificates. Mainly the food products are required to be standardised as they are of human consumption and benefits. Of course, it is good to standardise all products but the process is time-consuming and India being a developing country, the small manufacturers cannot also afford the expenses.
