Answer:

the associative law is

(A+B)+C=A+(B+C)

(5/9+6/8)+-1/2=5/9+(6/8+(-1/2))

(40+54/72)+-1/2=5/9+(12-8/16)

(94/72)+-1/2=5/9+(4/16)

47/36+(-1/2)=5/9+1/4

94-36/72=20+9/36

58/72=29/36

29/36=29/36

therefore,(A+B)+C=A+(B+C)
